A collection of assorted flatware featuring approximately 16 pieces, including serving spoons, dessert spoons, teaspoons, and specialized serving items. The assembly includes examples in the Fiddle, Old English, and King’s patterns. Notable decorative pieces include a sifter spoon with a pierced and scalloped bowl and a naturalistic spoon featuring a gilded, shell-shaped bowl with a cast figurative handle. The materials appear to be a mixture of solid silver and electroplated base metal. The underside of one Fiddle pattern handle bears four impressed square punches reading E P N S, denoting Electroplated Nickel Silver. Other items show worn or partially obscured marks that are not currently legible as specific names or standards. Two spoons remain in protective plastic film.
Condition report:
The lot exhibits varying degrees of surface wear consistent with age and use. Several silver-plated pieces show visible plate loss and \"bleeding, \" where the underlying copper or base metal is exposed (photo 1). Heavy tarnish and oxidation are present across the majority of the items. The sifter spoon displays minor distortion to the pierced bowl. Scratches, scuffs, and small indentations are visible on the polished surfaces throughout the collection.
