An Irish-made ceramic tea and coffee service featuring the Claremont pattern. The set comprises a lidded teapot with a domed lid and pointed finial, a twin-handled lidded sugar bowl, a creamer jug with a curved pouring lip, and a large mug with a D-shaped handle. Each piece is constructed from glazed earthenware or stoneware and is decorated with transfer-printed floral sprays featuring central pink roses surrounded by smaller blue blossoms and green foliage. The rims are finished with a thin blue line. The base of the items bears a green printed backstamp within a scrolled border featuring three shamrocks. The mark reads Keltcraft followed by a registered trademark symbol, and designed by Noritake in script. Additional text reads DETERGENT-SAFE and MICROWAVE & OVEN-SAFE, followed by IRELAND, the pattern number 9184, and the pattern name CLAREMONT. A small circular mark containing the number 1 is also visible. An orange adhesive price sticker marked 95 and a small white adhesive sticker marked 4 are present on the teapot lid (photo 1).
Condition report:
The items appear in good structural condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restorations across the main bodies (photo 1). There is significant brown staining and surface residue visible on the unglazed foot rim of the base shown in photo 2, indicating previous use. Adhesive stickers remain on the teapot lid (photo 1).
