Lot 604: A Multi-Tier Black Faux-Crocodile Embossed Jewellery Box
A multi-tier jewellery box featuring a black synthetic exterior with a glossy faux-crocodile skin embossed finish. The interior is lined throughout with a cream-coloured velvet-type fabric. The hinged lid opens to reveal an inset rectangular mirror and an elasticated storage pocket. The internal storage configuration consists of a top tray with two sets of ring rolls flanking a central small drawer and multiple square compartments. Below the top tray is a tiered drawer system comprising two small side-by-side drawers and one large full-width base drawer. The drawers are fitted with decorative gold-tone metal D-shaped pulls. The front of the case is equipped with a gold-tone latch mechanism. There are no maker’s marks, signatures, or brand labels visible on the exterior or interior of the box. A white paper silica gel packet is present in one compartment, printed with the text DESICCANT SILICA GEL THROW AWAY DO NOT EAT. A digital scale is visible in the foreground, but it does not display a reading for the object.
Condition report:
The faux-crocodile embossed exterior is in good overall condition with minor shelf wear and light scuffing to the corners (photo 1). The interior cream lining shows signs of use, including light staining, dust accumulation, and minor fraying at the edges of the compartments (photo 1). The gold-tone hardware shows light surface scratches and minor tarnishing consistent with handling, though the drawers and hinges remain functional (photo 1). The interior mirror is intact with no visible cracks or desilvering (photo 1).
