Lot 594: A Pair of Contemporary Collector Dolls
A pair of contemporary collector dolls with bisque porcelain heads, hands, and feet, and soft stuffed cloth bodies. The first doll has dark skin, fixed brown eyes with applied lashes, and dark curly synthetic wigged hair. It is dressed in a sage-green satin-effect bodice with a white lace-trimmed collar, white beaded buttons, and a skirt featuring a cream lace overlay and a maroon and white chequered border. The second doll has fair skin, fixed blue eyes, and blonde synthetic hair styled in two braids. It wears a light blue sailor-style dress with a wide white collar featuring dark blue piping, blue ribbon bows, and a silver-tone metal anchor charm. An orange adhesive label hand-marked 5.94 is applied to the bodice of each doll. A small white card tag hand-marked 7 is attached to the collar of the blonde doll. No manufacturer marks, signatures, or backstamps are visible on the exposed porcelain components or garments.
