Lot 569: A late 20th-century knotty pine pedestal cabinet
A mass-produced storage cabinet constructed from solid knotty pine, featuring a rustic country aesthetic. The unit is designed with a two-section front, comprising a smaller upper panel and a larger lower panel, both finished with raised and bevelled rectangular moulding. Each section is fitted with a brass-effect metal drop handle on a circular backplate. The cabinet stands on four turned bun feet. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces shown.
Condition report:
The piece shows signs of domestic use, including surface scuffs, light scratches, and minor indentations to the top and side panels (photo 1). The wood finish exhibits some age-related fading and natural variations in grain and knots.
