Lot 342: A Patinated Metal Four-Rod Columnar Table Lamp with Tapered Shade
A table lamp of architectural form, featuring a columnar shaft composed of four patinated metal rods rising from a stepped square base. A clear faceted spacer, likely of glass or acrylic, is positioned below the bulb socket. The lamp is fitted with a square, tapered shade in a cream-coloured textured parchment-style material, finished with a decorative black and white braided trim to the upper and lower edges. The lamp is wired with a gold-toned plastic-coated flex terminating in a modern white UK three-pin plug. An orange adhesive label is present on the exterior of the shade, handwritten with the number 342. No maker’s marks or factory labels are visible on the metal base or body.
Condition report:
The metal components exhibit surface oxidation and general wear consistent with age and use (photo 1). The shade shows some light surface marking and minor indentations (photo 1). The electrical wiring is modern; however, the item is sold as untested and must be professionally PAT tested before use.
