Timed sale of unsold lots
A collection of non-fiction and reference volumes, primarily hardcovers in quarto and octavo formats. The assortment includes Hitler’s Wartime Picture Magazine: Signal, edited by S. L. Mayer, published by Bison Books in 1976, which is a quarto volume with a pictorial dust jacket containing reproductions of the WWII-era magazine. Also present is Wainwright on the Pennine Way, authored by A. Wainwright with photography by Derry Brabbs, published by Michael Joseph in 1985; this work is bound in publisher’s cloth with an original illustrated dust jacket. The group further contains various collector’s guides, such as Miller’s Handbags: A Collector’s Guide by Judith Miller and Miller’s Powder Compacts. Other titles visible in the collection include works concerning Grey Owl. The volumes are generally housed in their original cloth or board bindings with most retaining their illustrated dust jackets.
Condition report:
Overall condition is fair to good. The dust jackets exhibit moderate shelf wear, including rubbing to the edges and corners, light surface scuffing, and some creasing. Chipping and small closed tears are visible to the top edges of the Signal and Wainwright jackets. The internal bindings appear stable, and the page blocks show typical toning consistent with age.
