Lot 489: A Collection of Vintage British Children's Annuals including Judy For Girls 1973
This collection comprises several vintage children’s annuals and storybooks, led by the Judy For Girls – 1973 annual published by D.C. Thomson and Co. Ltd. The Judy annual features hardcover pictorial boards with a front cover illustration of a young girl holding a red skipping rope in front of a suit of plate armour. Cover text indicates the inclusion of twenty-three picture stories and cartoons, sixteen things to make and do, and five new games. The assortment also contains several other volumes, including a title featuring a red rocket and the text To The Moon on the spine, and another volume depicting blue cartoon characters. All items are bound in pictorial boards.
Condition report:
The Judy annual displays moderate shelf wear with bumping and scuffing to the corners and board edges. A small orange price sticker is present on the top right corner of the front board. The spine shows wear and compression at the head and tail. The accompanying volumes show similar signs of age and use, including rubbed edges, slightly dulled colours on the spines, and corner wear. Internal pages have not been inspected for foxing, tears, or ownership inscriptions.
