Lot 490: A Collection of Vintage UK Childrens Annuals and Non-Fiction Hardcover Books
A collection of childrens annuals and non-fiction publications primarily from the late 1960s and 1970s. The lot includes a series of Blue Peter annuals including the Ninth, Eleventh, and Fourteenth books published by the BBC, alongside Battle Picture Weekly Annual 1977 and The Avengers Annual 1976 published by World Distributors. Other titles include Valiant Annual 1973 by Fleetway, Spitfire Special by Ian Allan, 4th Dimension, The Victor, Lots to Do, World of Wonder, and The How and Why Wonder Book of Coins. The books are bound in hardcover pictorial boards. Various publisher logos are visible on the spines, including the BBC tv logo, World Distributors, Ian Allan, and the Fleetway Annual insignia.
Condition report:
The collection shows general signs of age and shelf wear consistent with use. Rubbing and minor bumping are evident at the corners and edges of the boards. Several spines exhibit fading and wear to the head and tail, with The Victor annual showing significant paper loss and peeling to the spine. Occasional lifting or bubbling of the original clear laminate is present on some volumes. The internal condition has not been verified.
