This framed colour print is a reproduction of George Stubbs’ portrait of the celebrated racehorse Eclipse. The scene depicts a rider in a traditional orange-red hunting jacket mounted on the chestnut stallion, with a groom and another horse visible in the background against a sparse landscape. The print is an offset lithograph on paper, housed within a tan card mount and a dark-stained wood frame featuring a gilt inner slip. Small printed text is present in the lower right margin. Two adhesive labels, one white with B B and one orange with 328, are affixed to the glass.
Condition report:
The frame shows minor surface scuffs and wear to the corners. There is accumulated dust on the frame and glass. The print itself appears to be in good condition with no visible foxing or damage. Adhesive labels are present on the exterior of the glass.
