Lot 208: Beswick ceramic Puma on Rock figurine model 1702
Beswick ceramic figurine of a snarling puma, also known as a mountain lion or cougar, depicted on a textured rocky base. This model, number 1702, is finished in a realistic tawny brown matte glaze with darker brown shading on the ears, face, paws, and tail tip. The animal is posed in an alert, aggressive manner with an open mouth and one raised front paw. The underside of the base is marked with an impressed BESWICK ENGLAND 1702 stamp, a circular black BESWICK ENGLAND backstamp, and a decorative scrollwork crest backstamp featuring a central B. Two paper auction lot labels are present on the base.
Condition report:
The figurine is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restoration. Minor shelf wear is present on the unglazed footrim.
