Lot 153: A Large Collection of Cut Crystal Stemware and Assorted Tableware
An extensive collection of cut lead crystal and glassware. The lot features a substantial number of stemmed wine glasses and goblets decorated with a traditional geometric pattern comprising a lower register of diamond-cut cross-hatching surmounted by an upper tier of starburst wedge cuts. Also included is a variety of cylindrical highball glasses and tumblers with vertical and criss-cross cutting, alongside smaller matching liqueur or sherry glasses. Positioned towards the rear is a suite of amber-coloured stemmed glasses. To the far left, a stack of white ceramic plates with gilt borders is partially visible. Several items are marked with orange adhesive labels bearing the handwritten number 153, and one glass has a white square label with the number 2. No maker’s marks or signatures were observed during inspection.
Condition report:
The glassware generally presents in good condition with high clarity throughout. There is no immediate evidence of internal clouding or significant chips. Minor surface wear and faint scratches consistent with age and domestic use are present.
