Auction will begin to close in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A full-sized violin featuring a two-piece spruce top and a maple back and sides, finished in a dark reddish-brown varnish. The instrument is constructed in the traditional orchestral style with an ebony fingerboard and a black-finished wooden tailpiece fitted with four metal fine tuners. A black contoured chin rest is attached to the lower left bout. Four strings are currently fitted, terminating at matching dark-stained wooden tuning pegs. The violin is housed in a textured black hard-shell case with a green fabric-lined interior. A wooden bow is included, stored within a clear plastic sleeve inside the case lid. A small orange adhesive label is present on the upper left exterior of the case bearing the number 6.

Condition report:

The violin body shows significant varnish wear and loss, particularly on the upper right bout near the bridge and around the lower bouts and edges (photo 1). Numerous scuffs, scratches, and small chips to the finish are visible across the front soundboard. The wooden bridge is standing but shows surface discolouration. The metal fine tuners exhibit surface oxidation. The case shows external wear including scuffing to the outer material and oxidation to the metal latches and hinges. The bow and internal components appear intact, though playability and structural integrity of the internal sound post are unverified.
