Lot 395: An Assortment of Classical Music CDs, Cassettes, a DVD, and Wire Storage Rack
A collection of recorded music and film media primarily focused on classical and easy-listening genres, accompanied by a black wire-frame storage rack. The collection features a variety of compact discs in jewel cases, including the Classic FM Evening Concert series title Moonlight Sonata: Beethoven’s Finest and Other Great Adagios, which bears a printed red Nescafe logo on the front insert. Also included are Lesley Garrett: A Soprano Inspired on the Silva Screen label, and Famous Operetta Overtures featuring the Bratislava Radio Symphony Orchestra on the Naxos label. A multi-disc box set titled The Complete Classical Collection Vol. 2 in a white card slipcase is present.
The lot includes several cassette tapes, notably A World of Love: The Les Reed Collection on the Ditto label, alongside two blank TDK cassettes, one being an SFI 90 and another a UR 90. A single DVD of the film The Theory of Everything is included, which features a printed blue and red 12 BBFC age rating symbol on the cover. The media is housed in a transparent plastic storage bin.
The accompanying storage rack is constructed from black-coated metal wire in a tiered, vertical zig-zag design intended for holding jewel cases or cassettes. An orange adhesive price sticker reading 295 is attached to the upper right corner of the plastic bin (photo 1). A small white square label with a printed 7 is adhered to the side of the bin (photo 1).
Condition report:
The media cases show varying degrees of shelf wear, including surface scuffing and light scratching to the plastic jewel cases (photo 1). The paper inserts for the Moonlight Sonata CD and the Great Classics box show minor edge wear and creasing. The white slipcase for the multi-disc collection has some surface marking and corner bumping. The film DVD case appears to be in good condition. The black wire rack shows minor dust accumulation and small areas of paint loss to the wire frame (photo 2). All media is sold as seen; disc and tape playability has not been tested.
