Lot 365: A Parkside Bears Jointed Mohair Teddy Bear
A traditional jointed teddy bear constructed from golden-yellow long-pile mohair. The bear features a distinct light brown fabric muzzle with a hand-stitched black nose and dark brown suedette paw pads. The head and limbs are jointed, allowing for varied positioning. Affixed to the underside of the right foot is a green fabric ribbon label with gold-coloured text. It features a logo of two bears to the left of the words ORIGINAL in block capitals and Parkside Bears in cursive script. An orange adhesive price or inventory sticker reading 365 is present on the left foot pad.
Condition report:
The mohair shows general play-wear with areas of matting and thinning, most notably around the torso and face (photo 1). The light brown muzzle fabric exhibits surface pilling and thinning (photo 1). The dark brown suedette paw pads show significant surface wear, rubbing, and loss of the top layer of material, particularly on the soles of the feet (photo 2). The hand-stitched nose appears secure and intact. No original packaging or accessories are present.
