Lot 221: Two Wooden Household Items Including a Solid Ash Wall Mirror and a Paper Towel Holder
This lot comprises two turned wooden domestic items. The first is a circular wall mirror featuring a broad, chamfered frame constructed from solid ash, displaying a prominent and decorative natural grain. The circular mirror plate is inset into the frame. The reverse of the glass plate bears a white rectangular adhesive paper label with handwritten text reading ASH £18. The second item is a wooden paper towel holder designed for kitchen use, constructed with a turned central spindle and a shaped backboard. The wood appears to be a light-coloured species such as beech or pine, assembled with dowel joints. An orange rectangular adhesive price label reading 221 is attached to the upper edge of the mirror frame.
Condition report:
Both items are in good condition. The ash mirror frame shows a clean, natural finish with no visible chips or cracks to the wood (photo 1). The mirror glass is clear and free from foxing or silvering loss (photo 1). The paper towel holder shows minor surface wear consistent with domestic use but remains structurally sound with no visible damage to the spindle or base (photo 1).
