Lot 9: A Collection of Decorative Ceramic Ornaments and Two Table Clocks
A group of decorative objects comprising various ceramic, metal, and glass items. The collection includes two carriage-style clocks. The first clock features a gold-tone metal case with an arched top handle and a white dial with black Roman numerals; the dial is printed with the text METAMEC and QUARTZ. The second clock is housed in a clear arched acrylic frame with a gold-tone circular bezel; the white dial features Roman numerals and is printed with the word acctim.
The ceramic components include a large ovoid ginger jar and matching lid featuring a pearlescent lustre glaze, decorated with transfer-printed and hand-painted pink floral motifs and birds. There is a small cylindrical porcelain jar with a polished silver-tone metal lid, decorated with a transfer-printed bird and floral design. A heart-shaped porcelain trinket box is included, featuring applied three-dimensional ceramic roses in pink, red, and yellow on the lid, along with painted floral sprays. The group also contains a small white ceramic vase containing purple fabric flowers. Additionally, the collection includes two miniature architectural models of historical English buildings, possibly resin or ceramic, one depicting a timber-framed Tudor-style house and the other a stone church tower.
Condition report:
The items are in varied condition. The metal finishes on the clocks and jars show signs of surface wear, minor oxidation, and dust accumulation. The clocks are quartz movements and are currently untested for timekeeping accuracy. The applied ceramic flowers on the trinket box appear intact, though they may have minor chips to the petal edges consistent with age. The fabric flowers show some fraying and dust. The architectural models show minor surface abrasions to the painted finish.
