A collection of various ceramic and porcelain decorative objects. The group includes two blue and white porcelain ginger jars, one complete with a domed lid and the other lacking a cover, both featuring underglaze cobalt blue decoration of prunus blossoms on a cracked-ice ground. A large porcelain ovoid vase is decorated with an underglaze scene of reeds or bamboo in a muted palette of grey and black. Included is a white porcelain cachepot featuring a gilded rim and polychrome floral sprays depicting irises, roses, and forget-me-nots. A stoneware-style globular vase features incised and painted leaf motifs on a buff-coloured ground. Smaller items include a bulbous vase with a blue mottled glaze, a small teacup and saucer with an iron-red and blue floral pattern, and a turquoise blue glazed figurine of a stylized dog. A small figurine of a hen is present, featuring a multi-coloured heraldic crest printed on its side. Completing the collection is a large naturalistic shell-form vessel with a textured exterior and an iridescent interior finish. A small teacup and saucer set features underglaze blue and overglaze iron-red floral decoration. No maker’s names are legible on the visible surfaces of the objects.
Condition report:
The items generally appear to be in good condition. The teacup has a prominent chip to the rim. The gilding on the cachepot shows minor surface wear. One ginger jar is missing its lid. The remaining pieces show signs of light surface wear consistent with age and use.
