This lot comprises two large contemporary art glass vases, each featuring a dramatic, multi-lobed handkerchief rim. The primary vase is a tricolour sommerso-style piece, transitioning from a deep red base through a green middle section to a cobalt blue rim. The rim is finished with a clear glass casing. This vessel stands on a flared, circular base of frosted pink glass. The second vase, positioned behind, is a monochromatic deep ruby red with a similar heavily ruffled and fluted form and clear cased edges. Both items exhibit the hand-blown characteristics of mid-to-late 20th-century Italian glass production. A small white adhesive label marked with the numeral 5 is present on the blue section of the tricolour vase, and another label with the numeral 5 is visible on the lower section of the red vase. A small orange adhesive label reading 19 is attached to the upper green section of the tricolour vase. No maker’s signatures, acid-etched marks, or manufacturer labels are visible on the bodies or bases of either piece.
