Lot 509: Rolex Datejust Wristwatch with Stone Set Bezel and Dial ( not authenticated )
A silvertone metal wristwatch featuring a circular dial marked with a coronet logo and printed in black uppercase characters ROLEX, OYSTER PERPETUAL, and DATEJUST. The lower portion of the dial is printed with the text SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED and SWISS MADE at the base. The silver-tone sunburst dial is set with ten round-cut clear stones in square settings serving as hour markers, with a date aperture at the 3 o’clock position under a magnification lens. The case is fitted with a bezel set with a single row of round-cut clear stones. The watch is presented on a three-link bracelet with polished centre links and brushed outer links, featuring a folding clasp. The case and bracelet appear to be constructed from stainless steel. Internal movement and serial numbers are not visible for inspection.
Condition report:
The watch shows visible surface scratching and wear throughout the case sides and bracelet links, particularly evident on the polished centre sections of the bracelet (photo 1). There is an accumulation of dirt around the stones on the bezel and within the bracelet links. The magnification lens over the date appears to have low magnifying power compared to factory specifications. The stones on the bezel and dial have not been tested for authenticity as diamonds. The functional status of the movement and date complication is unknown.
