Lot 504: Two Vintage Graduated Multi-Strand Simulated Pearl Necklaces including Rosita
A collection consisting of two vintage graduated multi-strand necklaces. The first necklace features four strands of cream-toned simulated pearls, graduated in size. It is secured with a rectangular white metal box clasp set with clear paste stones. The second necklace features three strands of warm-toned simulated pearls, graduated in size. The decorative floral-motif white metal clasp is set with clear paste stones. This second necklace is housed in a shell-shaped presentation case with a cream satin lining. The interior lid bears a printed mark in gold-tone lettering which reads Rosita SIMULATED CHARM REGD.
Condition report:
Both necklaces appear to be in good vintage condition. The four-strand necklace retains a bright luster. The three-strand Rosita necklace shows minor surface rubbing to the simulated pearl coating on some beads, consistent with age and use. The presentation case for the Rosita necklace shows light staining and fraying to the satin lining at the hinge (photo 1). The clasps on both items are functional.
