Lot 501: A Collection of Assorted Glass Marbles
A large collection of glass marbles presented in a clear plastic storage container. The assortment features a diverse range of types, colours, and patterns including cat’s eyes, solid opaques, swirls, and transparent glass with internal veining. The marbles vary in diameter, comprising both standard players and larger shooter sizes. The colour palette includes shades of cobalt blue, emerald green, canary yellow, orange, white, and black. Construction is primarily machine-made glass with various internal and surface decorative techniques. There are no maker’s marks or branding present on the marbles or the contemporary storage bin.
Condition report:
The collection is in good used condition. The marbles exhibit signs of play wear consistent with age, including scattered surface scratches and minor flea bites visible across the assortment (photo 1). No significant fractures or large chips are observed in the primary view. The plastic storage container is functional with no visible cracks.
