Lot 459: Upholstered Wingback Armchair in Grey and Cream Plaid Fabric
A contemporary wingback armchair featuring a traditional silhouette. The chair is upholstered in a woven tartan plaid fabric with a colour palette of grey, charcoal, and cream. The construction includes a fixed, high back with flared wings and scrolled arms. It is fitted with a loose, reversible seat cushion finished with piped edges. The chair is supported by four tapered, conical wooden legs in a light natural finish. While the design is consistent with popular highback models like those produced by Next, there are no maker’s marks, labels, or stamps visible on the exterior to confirm a specific manufacturer.
Condition report:
The armchair is in good domestic condition. The upholstery shows a small brownish stain on the front left surface of the seat cushion (photo 1). There is light surface pilling and fuzziness to the fabric consistent with use. The wooden legs show minor scuffs at the base. No structural faults are visible.
