Lot 423: A Five Piece Contemporary Round Glass Top Dining Set
A contemporary five-piece dining set comprising a circular dining table and four matching high-back upholstered chairs. The table features a circular tempered glass top with polished edges, secured to the base by four circular metal mounting discs. The glass top is supported by a starburst pedestal base with four radiating legs, constructed with a light-oak wood-effect finish. The four matching chairs are upholstered in a light taupe velvet-effect fabric. Two chairs feature a button-tufted Chesterfield-style backrest, while the remaining two chairs have a plain, seamed backrest design. All chairs are supported by tapered wooden legs in a natural finish matching the table base. A white adhesive label is present on one of the chair backrests, but the printed text is not legible. No other maker’s marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the components shown.
Condition report:
The glass tabletop shows significant surface dust and smudging across the entire surface (photo 1). The velvet-effect upholstery shows visible surface marks and potential light staining consistent with domestic use, particularly evident on the chair seats (photo 1). The wooden legs of the chairs and table base exhibit minor scuffs and wear to the finish typical of use (photo 1). No chips or cracks are visible to the glass top, though surface scratches cannot be ruled out beneath the dust layer.
