Lot 407: A Pair of Contemporary High Back Upholstered Dining Chairs
A matching pair of contemporary high-back dining side chairs. Each chair is fully upholstered in a textured woven fabric featuring a neutral oatmeal tone with a distinct vertical ribbing effect. The chairs are constructed with a tall, slightly arched backrest and a square seat base. The four exposed legs are fashioned from a light-toned solid wood with a clear finish and a square profile, with the rear legs featuring a slight outward flare for stability. A small yellow adhesive price or inventory sticker is present on the upper left back of one chair. While the design is consistent with contemporary furniture lines, there are no readable maker’s marks or manufacturer labels present on the exterior of the pieces.
Condition report:
The chairs are in used condition with significant signs of wear. The upholstery on both chairs shows heavy soiling and dark staining, most notably across the seat bases and the upper sections of the backrests (photo 1). There is general surface discolouration and accumulated dirt throughout the woven fabric. The wooden legs exhibit minor scuffs and abrasions consistent with regular use.
