Lot 368: A Collection of Garden Hand Tools Including Edging Shears and Hedge Shears
An assortment of garden hand tools presented in a secondary cardboard tray. The collection includes a pair of lawn edging shears featuring pink-coated metal tubular shafts and yellow plastic ergonomic grips. The steel blades are secured with a black plastic pivot assembly. Also included are two pairs of manual hedge shears; one pair features wooden handles with black rubberised grips and a yellow plastic guard on one side, while the other has teal-coloured metal components and orange plastic accents on the handles. An impressed mark on the wooden handle of one pair of shears is partially legible, appearing to read MARGO AGRI-HARDEN. Completing the group is a three-tine hand weeding fork with black-finished metal tines and a handle featuring an orange plastic tip. The tools are displayed in a cardboard tray originally used for EH Booth & Co Ltd flat nectarines, which bears a white adhesive printed label with product codes, variety, and country of origin information.
Condition report:
The tools are in used condition with visible signs of wear consistent with outdoor use. All three pairs of shears exhibit surface oxidation and rust across the steel blades (photo 1). The wooden handles show weathering, scuffing, and minor staining. The plastic grips and guards on the edging and hedge shears show surface dirt and light abrasions but appear structurally intact. The black finish on the weeding fork shows some wear at the tips of the tines. Mechanical pivot actions have not been tested for smoothness.
