Lot 36: Two Pieces of Cut and Etched Crystal Glassware

Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

This lot consists of two pieces of decorative glassware crafted from clear crystal. The first item is a pitcher featuring deep geometric cutting. The body is decorated with a series of large, intersecting X-motifs that form a diamond lattice, filled with fine cross-hatching. The upper portion of the body is further embellished with starburst or fan-shaped cuts. It is designed with a scrolled handle and a slightly flared, smooth rim. The second item is a bulbous-bodied vessel, possibly a vase or carafe, with a cylindrical neck. This piece is decorated with wheel-etched or engraved motifs depicting feathery, fern-like fronds and stylized foliage arranged in a radial pattern around the body. An orange adhesive price or inventory label is present on the cylindrical neck of the etched vessel, bearing the handwritten number 36. No maker’s marks, signatures, or acid-etched stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces of either piece.

Condition report:

Both items appear to be in good condition. The cut glass pitcher shows no visible chips, cracks, or clouding to the body or handle (photo 1). The etched glass vessel maintains clear transparency with no visible surface scratches or impact marks; however, it shows an accumulation of surface dust (photo 1). The orange adhesive label on the neck of the etched vessel is an external addition and not part of the glass (photo 1).
