Lot 299: A Trio of Hand-knitted Wool-blend Cushions Featuring Dachshund Motifs
A trio of decorative hand-knitted cushions, each featuring a stylized long-bodied dog motif, likely a dachshund, rendered in intarsia knitting. The cushions are constructed from a wool or wool-blend yarn in a stockinette stitch and appear to be stuffed with polyester fiberfill. Each cushion is embellished with three-dimensional knitted or crocheted details. One cushion features an oatmeal-coloured background with a black dog wearing a red bow at the neck and a grey tail. A second cushion has a blue background with a cream-coloured dog adorned with a red rosette on the hindquarters and a black ear. The third cushion is knitted in a plum-coloured yarn with a cream-coloured dog wearing a green bow and a grey ear. Small white adhesive labels are visible on the blue and oatmeal cushions, both bearing the printed number 10 10. A small orange adhesive label is present on the lower portion of the plum cushion. There are no maker’s marks or manufacturer labels visible on any of the items.
Condition report:
The cushions are in good, clean condition. There is minor pilling and surface fuzzing visible across the wool surfaces, consistent with the material and light handling (all photos). There are no visible tears, holes, or significant staining. The three-dimensional knitted embellishments remain securely attached.
