A collection of black and white photographs, appearing to be silver gelatin prints, presented in uniform dark wood-effect frames with gilt inner slips. The subject matter focuses on historical maritime and coastal scenes. One prominent print depicts a large passenger vessel, possibly a lake steamer or ferry, with an inscription in script on the print surface reading “gondola” and “Myproagfy”. The collection is housed in a repurposed white cardboard box with black marker handwriting reading GLASS and up. Each frame is fitted with dark brown and gilt-edged moulding. A small orange adhesive price or inventory sticker reading 261 is adhered to the cardboard box.
Condition report:
The photographs and frames appear to be in good overall condition. Surface dust is visible across the frames and glass, consistent with storage (photo 1). The frames show minor surface abrasions and small losses to the finish at the corners and edges (photo 1). One frame displays a metal hanging loop attached to the top edge (photo 1). The prints themselves appear stable with no immediate signs of foxing, staining, or silver mirroring visible through the glass.
