Lot 237: Three Vintage Winsor and Newton and Spear's Games Art and Craft Sets
A trio of vintage craft and hobby sets in original pictorial packaging. The first item is a Winsor and Newton watercolour sketching set for beginners, housed in a blue and silver-tone tin. The tin lid is printed with the words WATERCOLOUR and sketching for beginners in blue and black serif type. A white adhesive label on the upper left corner of the tin lid reads 6 6. The second item is a Winsor and Newton art set, partially obscured, featuring a pictorial cardboard cover showing a man at a wooden easel with a Winton logo. A yellow adhesive price label on this box reads 6 6 and has a small orange sticker partially covering the brand name. The third item is a Spear’s Games wooden flower press kit. The yellow cardboard box is printed with floral illustrations and the text SPEAR’S WOODEN Flower Press With full instructions and suggestions for floral arrangements 8 years to adult. The side of the box includes the manufacturer information MADE BY J. W. SPEAR and SONS PLC. ENFIELD, MIDDX, ENGLAND. A rectangular orange adhesive price sticker on the top of the box is handwritten with 237.
Condition report:
The items are in their original vintage packaging and show typical signs of age-related wear. The Winsor and Newton watercolour tin has a minor dent to the left side of the lid and light surface scratching (photo 1). The Winton box has rubbing to the edges and corners with some surface scuffing. The Spear\'s Games box shows softening to the corners and light shelf wear (photo 1). All sets are closed; internal components have not been inspected for completeness, state of use, or potential drying of media.
