Lot 19: A Collection of Pressed and Cut Glass Serving Bowls and Dishes
A collection of pressed and cut glass tableware consisting of several bowls and shallow dishes in various patterns. The largest deep circular bowl features a repeating geometric pattern of diamonds and hobstars with a scalloped rim. A second deep bowl is decorated with a starburst base and stylized floral motifs alternating with vertical fluting beneath a saw-tooth rim; this bowl contains a smaller matching dish. The collection also includes a shallow charger with a starburst centre and cross-hatched border panels, and a smaller circular dish featuring a wheel-engraved or etched border of wheat ears and leaves. The pieces are primarily clear pressed glass with some wheel-cut details. No manufacturer names, marks, or signatures are visible on the bodies of the glassware.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally good condition. The large saw-tooth rimmed bowl (top left) shows minor roughness and small fleabite chips to the points of the rim. The etched dish (bottom left) and the diamond-patterned bowl (top right) show light surface scratches consistent with use. No significant cracks or large chips are visible across the items.
