Lot 189: A Pair of Dark Brown Leather Equestrian Country Boots with Triple Strap Closures
A pair of tall equestrian-style country boots constructed from dark brown oiled leather. The design features a heavy-duty, lugged rubber sole and a side-opening shaft secured by three wide hook-and-loop straps. The uppers show a panelled construction with reinforced stitching at the heel and toe areas. A circular brass-coloured metal badge is attached to the lowermost strap of the right boot, featuring a stylized letter R embossed in the centre. The tread of the sole includes molded lettering, which is partially obscured by debris and not clearly legible. An orange rectangular adhesive label is present on the interior lid of the plain brown cardboard box.
Condition report:
The boots are in used condition with signs of outdoor wear. Visible dried mud and soil are present across the soles, heels, and lower sections of the leather uppers (photo 1). The leather exhibits natural creasing around the ankle and shaft consistent with use, along with light surface scuffing particularly on the toe boxes. The interior lining shows light wear and some trapped debris. The hook-and-loop fasteners appear intact and functional. The accompanying cardboard box shows minor storage wear and creasing.
