A pair of Beswick glazed ceramic figurines depicting Siamese cats. The figures are modelled in two different naturalistic poses: one stands alert with its head turned to the left, while the other is depicted in a crouching or reclining position. Both pieces are finished in a high-gloss glaze with characteristic Siamese “pointed” coloration, featuring dark seal brown ears, facial masks, paws, and tails against cream-coloured bodies. The eyes are picked out in blue paint. The modelling captures the lithe form of the breed. There are no maker’s names, factory stamps, or country-of-origin marks visible on the exterior surfaces of the pieces shown. An orange rectangular adhesive label and a white rectangular adhesive label are present on the back of the standing cat, however, these appear to be temporary inventory or price stickers rather than manufacturer marks. The undersides of the bases are not visible in the provided images.
Condition report:
Both figurines appear to be in good overall condition. The glossy glaze is well-preserved across both pieces with no visible chips, cracks, or crazing to the exposed surfaces. A slight blue highlight visible on the flank of the reclining cat is a reflection from the surrounding display environment rather than a defect in the glaze or ceramic body. No evidence of repair is visible.
