Buyer's Premium:

An assortment of philatelic material and ephemera housed in a cardboard box. The primary component is a group of Netherlands definitive stamps spanning the periods 1867-1898 and 1898-1923, as indicated by handwritten notations on the stock sheets. These issues include various denominations such as 5 cent, 6 cent, 7 1/2 cent, and 10 cent, featuring portrait designs and numerical motifs. The stamps are primarily used with circular date stamp cancellations and are arranged on black-backed plastic stock pages and within clear protective sleeves. The collection includes a large block of black and white labels or stamps depicting Olympic runners. Also present is a small plastic container, labelled TWO LITRE, containing loose worldwide and Netherlands stamps, including an orange 7 1/2 cent issue. Ephemera includes a red and white souvenir card titled CANADA 1964 and a card titled BY PLANE featuring aeronautical illustrations. A framed landscape watercolour or print is included at the top of the box.

Condition report:

The stamps are in mixed condition. Most used examples shown on the stock sheets exhibit circular date stamp cancellations of varying clarity (photo 1). Centering on the early Netherlands issues varies from fine to poor, with some perforations appearing irregular or clipped. The large block of runner stamps shows some creasing and peripheral wear to the selvage. The plastic storage container and stock sheets show surface scuffing and dust commensurate with age. The cardboard housing box is worn with torn edges and structural weakening. The framed artwork is not examined out of the frame; however, the matting appears aged.
