Lot 73: A Collection of Twelve Stainless Steel Grapefruit Spoons in Retail Packaging
A collection of two sets of six stainless steel grapefruit spoons, totaling twelve pieces. Each spoon features a pointed bowl with a serrated edge along one side, specifically designed for segmenting citrus fruit. The tapered handles terminate in a relief-molded pattern consisting of scroll and foliate motifs. The spoons are presented in two cardboard retail boxes with blue plastic-coated interior inserts and clear film covers. The boxes are decorated with a repeating blue and white geometric border along the top and bottom edges. The vertical text QUALITY STAINLESS STEEL is printed on the left side of the box face, and SET OF SIX is printed on the right. One box bears a white rectangular adhesive sticker with the characters 4 4 printed or written in black ink. No maker’s name or specific branding is legible on the spoons or packaging.
Condition report:
The spoons appear to be in unused condition with a bright polished finish (photo 1). The cardboard retail packaging shows moderate shelf wear, including creasing and scuffing at the corners and edges, along with general discolouration consistent with age (photo 1). The clear film covers and blue interior inserts remain intact.
