A Victorian style rectangular footstool upholstered in a red jacquard fabric featuring a repeating scroll and foliate damask pattern. The stool is accented with a heavy golden-orange tassel fringe around the top edge and a smaller fringe along the bottom base. It stands on four short, dark-stained wood cabriole legs terminating in scroll feet. A small round white adhesive label featuring the printed number 6 and a rectangular orange adhesive label with the handwritten number 583 are affixed to the top upholstery. No maker’s marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Condition report:
The upholstery remains intact with minor surface wear. There is significant fraying and loss of strands to the golden-orange tassel fringe along the front edge (photo 1). The trim along the base shows loose threads and fraying (photo 1). The wooden legs exhibit minor scuffs and marks consistent with age and use.
