Lot 572: Mid-Century Modern Teak-Effect Veneer Record Storage Unit
A mid-century modern record storage shelf or desktop organiser, dating to circa 1960s-1970s. The unit is constructed from wood featuring a warm teak-effect veneer. It is designed with a rectangular frame containing three fixed, angled vertical dividers that form four distinct storage compartments, a configuration typically used for organising vinyl records or magazines. The face of the second divider from the left bears two small adhesive labels: a white rectangular label printed with the digits 3 and 3, and a yellow label with illegible text. No other maker’s marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the piece.
Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition showing signs of use and age commensurate with its period. There is light surface wear and minor scratches to the teak-effect veneer, notably along the bottom shelf and edges. Adhesive residue is present on the second divider where labels are attached. A small area of wear or a minor chip is visible on the lower right-hand edge.
