Lot 539: Rectangular Woven Natural Fibre Storage Trunk with Lidded Top
A rectangular storage trunk constructed from woven natural fibres, featuring vertical braided bands set against a flat-woven background. The piece is designed with a hinged lid that opens to reveal a full interior lining of white textile. The lid is secured by two metal hinges and a fabric interior stay-strap. A small, rectangular adhesive sticker, partially orange, is attached to the upper left corner of the lid; however, the text on this label is not legible.
Condition report:
The item shows signs of light use. There is minor oxidation visible on the two metal hinges (photo 2). Small instances of fraying to the natural fibres are present, which are characteristic of the material and construction (photo 1). The interior fabric lining appears clean and is securely attached (photo 2). The fabric stay-strap remains functional.
