Lot 366: A Pair of Handmade Patchwork Textile Teddy Bears
A pair of handmade soft toy teddy bears constructed from various textile fabrics. The first bear features a solid pink body with a contrasting floral patterned fabric in shades of pink and blue, used for the triangular face panel, inner ears, arm and leg inserts, and foot pads. It is finished with a matching floral fabric bow tie at the neck. The second bear is constructed primarily from a multi-coloured plaid fabric featuring red, yellow, green, and blue, with contrasting solid blue fabric used for the triangular face panel, inner ears, arm and leg inserts, and foot pads. It is finished with a matching solid blue fabric bow tie at the neck. Both bears have a minimalist folk-art design without applied plastic eyes or noses. An orange rectangular adhesive label is attached to the forehead of each bear, bearing the handwritten number 366. A small white circular adhesive label is affixed to the sole of the right foot on both bears, printed with the number 14.
Condition report:
The bears are in good, clean condition. Minor instances of surface lint and stray fibres are visible on the solid blue and pink fabrics (photo 1). The stitching appears intact throughout with no visible tears, losses, or staining.
