Lot 240: Alan Majchrowicz, Yaquina Head, Monochromatic Photographic Print
A monochromatic landscape photographic print by Alan Majchrowicz, depicting the Yaquina Head Lighthouse in Oregon. The image captures a dramatic coastal scene with the white lighthouse tower situated on a dark, rugged headland to the right, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The foreground features waves breaking against rocky outcrops and a paved area leading towards the lighthouse. The print is presented in a wide cream-coloured window mount and a dark brown wood frame under glass. Centred on the mount directly below the image, the photographer’s name is printed in capital letters as A L A N M A J C H R O W I C Z, with the title Yaquina Head printed in a smaller font underneath. The glass bears an orange adhesive sticker at the top right corner with the number 240, and a small white adhesive sticker at the bottom right of the mount displays the number 23. A dark smudge or mark is visible on the lower centre of the mount board, just below the printed name.
Condition report:
The photographic print itself appears to be in good condition with no visible signs of fading, foxing, or silver mirroring. There is a prominent dark smudge or mark on the lower centre of the cream-coloured mount board (photo 1). The wooden frame shows minor scuffs and shelf wear along the edges. The glass has surface dust and contains adhesive residue and stickers from previous auction or inventory handling (photo 1).
