Lot 106: A Pair of Glazed Ceramic Chamber Pots
A pair of utilitarian glazed earthenware chamber pots. Each vessel features a traditional bulbous body with a wide everted rim and a single scrolled loop handle. One pot is finished in a bright white glaze, while the other possesses a cream-toned glaze. The white-glazed pot has an orange adhesive label on the upper curve of the handle bearing the handwritten number 106. The cream-glazed pot features a small white rectangular adhesive label on the interior rim with the printed number 4. No maker’s marks or backstamps are visible.
Condition report:
Both items show significant brown staining and mineral deposits to the interior bases and lower walls, consistent with previous use (photo 1). The glazes appear intact with no chips, cracks, or structural repairs visible from the provided angle.
