A collection of decorative earthenware comprising a large octagonal basin, a smaller octagonal bowl, and a stack of deep bowls with scalloped rims. The large octagonal wash basin features a flared rim with a cobalt blue border containing eight transfer-printed fruit vignettes and gilded-effect scrolls, with a green foliate vine border along the inner edge. Nested within is a smaller octagonal bowl with a cream glaze, a central fruit spray, and dark brown concentric bands. The stack of deep bowls features scalloped rims and cobalt blue borders with gilded scrolls and floral cartouches. A small square white adhesive label marked 4 is attached to the top scalloped bowl. Two orange rectangular adhesive labels marked 94 are attached to the rim of the large basin. No maker’s marks or backstamps are readable in the images.
Condition report:
Widespread glaze crazing is visible across the surfaces of the large octagonal basin and the smaller nested octagonal bowl (photo 1). The stack of scalloped bowls shows wear and rubbing to the gilding on the rims (photo 1). No other damage or repairs are visible.
