Lot 91a: A Set of Clear Pressed Glass Tableware with Fluted Panelling
This set of clear pressed glass tableware consists of a pitcher and matching mugs. The pieces are constructed from heavy, durable clear glass featuring a robust utility-grade design. The decoration consists of deep vertical panelling or fluting around the lower portion of each vessel, with each individual panel terminating in a rounded arch. The pitcher is equipped with an integral pouring spout and a thick, D-shaped handle. The mugs are of a tankard style, featuring sturdy C-shaped handles and thick, weighted bases. No maker’s marks, signatures, or backstamps are visible on any of the items. A small white rectangular adhesive label is attached to the side of the pitcher, bearing the printed numeral ‘4’.
Condition report:
The set appears to be in very good condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or significant surface scratches to the glass (photo 1). The items maintain good clarity with no evidence of clouding or glass sickness.
