A mid-20th-century cylindrical bedside cabinet or linen basket of woven construction, finished in white paint. The piece is constructed using characteristic twisted paper on a wire frame. It features a circular top with an inset glass surface, bordered by a braided woven trim and secured by a single metal retaining clip. The item rests on small, integrated block feet. The interior rim bears a rectangular white metal maker’s label reading LLOYD LOOM Trade Mark above a Lusty product, with the word Lusty written in a stylized, cursive script. A small orange adhesive sticker is present on the glass top.
Condition report:
The item is in fair used condition. The white painted finish shows wear, including chipping and rubbing in various areas, revealing an underlying green colour or the base material (photo 1). There are distinct green paint splatters and marks across the woven surface on one side (photo 1). The braided trim at the top shows minor fraying and wear (photo 1). The glass top appears intact but has an adhesive sticker present (photo 1). The woven structure remains generally sound with no major breaks visible.
