A weathered cast stone garden birdbath or planter of classical form. The piece features a standing putto leaning forward to support a large, deeply scalloped shell basin against its chest and shoulder. The basin is further decorated with a carved dolphin motif to one side. The figure stands on an integral, rustic-hewn rectangular base. A small white rectangular adhesive label is present inside the shell basin, printed with the numerals 12 12. No other marks, signatures, or stamps are visible on the stone surface.
Condition report:
The item exhibits heavy natural weathering consistent with prolonged outdoor exposure. There is a significant accumulation of green moss and lichen growth, particularly concentrated within the hollow of the shell basin and across the base (photo 1). The stone surface shows characteristic pitting, erosion, and mottled grey and brown discolouration throughout. No major structural cracks or significant losses are visible from the primary viewing angle.
