Lot 519: Vintage Floral Needlepoint Footstool with Cabriole Legs
A vintage rectangular footstool constructed from a dark-stained hardwood frame with a fixed upholstered top. The seat features a hand-stitched needlepoint textile depicting a floral motif of large pink and white flowers with variegated foliage in shades of green, yellow, and brown, arranged on a cream-coloured background. The piece is elevated on four cabriole legs ending in pad feet. Two temporary adhesive labels are present on the needlepoint: one orange sticker reading 519 and one white sticker reading 7.
Condition report:
The footstool is in good overall condition. Minor surface scuffs, nicks, and typical wear for its age are visible on the wooden frame and legs. A small white mark is noted on the front edge of the wooden frame (photo 1). The needlepoint upholstery appears clean and intact, though it has two adhesive labels applied directly to the textile which may require careful removal (photo 2).
