Lot 506: A Technics Stacking Hi-Fi Component System with Speakers and Remote Control
A Technics stacking hi-fi component system comprising five separate units in a black matte and gloss finish, accompanied by a pair of matching bookshelf speakers and a remote control. The system includes a turntable, tuner, amplifier, double cassette deck, and compact disc player.
The top unit is a Technics turntable, with a printed mark reading Technics DC SERVO AUTOMATIC TURNTABLE SYSTEM SL-J110R. It features a hinged smoked plastic dust cover, buttons for START/STOP and CUEING, and a 33/45 RPM speed selector. A printed mark on the tuner unit reads Technics LW/MW/FM STEREO TUNER ST-X301L, which includes a digital red LED multi-display and a rotary tuning dial. The amplifier unit bears the printed mark Technics STEREO INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER SU-X101 and the designation new class A. It is equipped with a large rotary volume dial, smaller rotary controls for TREBLE, BASS, BALANCE, and SUPER BASS, and push-button selectors for CD, TUNER, AUX, TAPE, and PHONO. The double cassette deck is marked Technics STEREO DOUBLE CASSETTE DECK RS-X101, featuring AUTO STOP CASSETTE on Deck 1 and AUTO REVERSE on Deck 2. The final component is marked Technics COMPACT DISC PLAYER SL-PJ27A, featuring a front-loading disc tray and track display.
The set includes two-way bookshelf speakers constructed from wood-based board with a black wood-grain effect veneer. Each speaker features a black fabric grille with a gold-coloured Technics logo applied to the lower front. A matching Technics remote control is also included. A small orange adhesive price label and a white rectangular adhesive label marked 7 are applied to the turntable lid (photo 1).
Condition report:
The components show signs of moderate use with accumulated surface dust and light surface scuffs consistent with age and stacking (photo 1). The smoked plastic turntable lid bears two adhesive labels (photo 1). The speaker cabinets and grilles appear intact, though a loose speaker wire is draped across the front of one unit (photo 2). The working status and playback quality of the individual components and speakers have not been tested.
