Lot 482: Modernist oil painting on canvas of a female figure on a beach
A contemporary oil painting on stretched canvas, depicting a stylised female figure in a floral-patterned dress walking toward a red-and-white striped deckchair on a beach. The work is rendered in a graphic style with broad planes of colour and visible, textured brushwork in the foreground and sky. The palette consists mainly of warm ochre, off-white, and red tones. The canvas is unframed. An orange adhesive label is present in the upper right corner, printed with L142. A white square adhesive label is located in the lower left corner, bearing the number 17. No signature or maker name is visible on the front of the work.
Condition report:
The painting is in good overall condition. The canvas is taut on its wooden stretcher. Minor surface wear and rubbing are visible along the unframed edges of the canvas (photo 1). The paint layer appears stable with no signs of craquelure or restoration.
