This lot consists of two pieces of decorative metalware: a tall pitcher and a wirework basket. The first item is a cylindrical vase or pitcher formed from rolled galvanised sheet metal, featuring a flared spout and a wide, flat-strap loop handle. The surface exhibits the characteristic mottled grey finish of galvanised steel. The second item is a circular wirework centrepiece bowl or basket. It is constructed from numerous thin, curved wire spokes radiating from a central point to a thick, braided-wire outer rim. The basket has a raised central base with a circular lattice or grid pattern. On the underside of the wirework basket, there is a rectangular orange adhesive label with the handwritten character 4 and a small circular white adhesive label with the printed characters 14. No permanent maker marks, hallmarks, or stamps are visible on either item.
Condition report:
Both pieces are in good used condition. The pitcher displays minor surface scuffs and variations consistent with a galvanised finish (photo 1). The basket shows visible tarnishing and oxidation, which is most prominent on the central lattice base and at the wire intersections (photo 1).
