Lot 365: Three vintage jointed teddy bears including a Bul-Bear designed for Peter Bull
A collection of three vintage plush teddy bears of varying sizes, all featuring jointed limbs and amber-coloured eyes.
The largest bear is constructed from light grey plush and features a vertically stitched black yarn nose and mouth. A white adhesive label marked 12 is attached to the left foot.
The middle bear is a golden-tan plush teddy bear wearing a blue satin ruffled collar with orange trim. A white printed fabric label on the sole of the right foot reads A BUL-BEAR DESIGNED FOR PETER BULL accompanied by an illegible logo to the left. A card arm tag is present, also printed with the name PETER BULL. The right foot bears two adhesive labels: an orange sticker marked 365 and a white sticker marked 12.
The third bear is medium-sized and constructed from cream plush, decorated with a yellow organza ribbon tied at the neck. It features a black stitched nose. Two adhesive labels, an orange sticker marked 365 and a white sticker marked 12, are adhered to the left foot.
Condition report:
The collection exhibits varying degrees of age-related wear. The large grey bear shows significant and extensive fur thinning and balding across the head, torso, and all four limbs (photo 1). The cream bear shows moderate thinning to the plush, most notably on the limbs and chest (photo 1). The Bul-Bear remains in generally good vintage condition with minor fur thinning observed on the muzzle (photo 1). Adhesive inventory stickers are present on the feet of all three bears.
